South Gloucestershire Ladies Team was only created in 2010, it is a new, vibrant team with plenty of backing and enthusiastic members. Although we have only just started, the mens team have been going for many years and have 3 well established teams, this link gives us all the benefits of an established club such as nominated officers, club chairman, contacts and of course umpires, that a new team may usually struggle to obtain. South Glos Ladies are, at the moment, between the ages of 15 - 35 but we are looking for new players. We want women of all ages to come and try out hockey. Hockey may have been something that you loved at school or uni or may have been something you thought about but never got a chance to try, well now is your chance. At South Glos we aim to include everyone, be they first timers or old timers with more experience. We have a dedicated team or coaches who are able to look after all ages and abilities. South Glos ladies are in Brunel 4th Division, we also play in the Thornbury Summer League. In the summer, when hockey becomes even more laid back, the team like to meet at The Kellaway Arms, a pub on Kellaway Avenue, 7.30ish every Tuesday to catch up and have a bit of a natter. |
